Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker
The KC-135R is a long-range jet tanker which the RSAF uses for mid-air refuelling of its aircraft. The KC-135R can also undertake aero-medical evacuation and airlift missions to provide logistics support for the SAF's overseas deployments and training exercises.
Refuelling Capabilities
The KC-135R was first equipped with the Refuelling Boom for the refuelling of receptacle equipped aircraft, such as the F-16. The tanker was later fitted with the Multi-Point Refuelling System (MPRS) which includes the Flight Refuelling Mk 32B hose and reel pods. This permits the KC-135R to refuel probe-equipped aircraft, such as the A4-SU and the F-5. With two types of refuelling probes, the KC-135R can offer refuelling support to all types of fighter aircraft in the RSAF orbat.
